You have types of lodging from which you may choose. Jamaica offers shelter to those on a small budget and through the continuum of penthouse lodging. The amenities at each location may vary but they are sure to have one thing in common....Life experiences and memorable moments. Your senses will be titillated to the max as you start to blend with the local culture and its people. You can of course keep to yourself and still have a great time. When you dive into this Reggae world, you will return home with a new groove and most likely a little patois.

Beauty and splendor abound when taking the road less traveled. Port Antonio may have many pot holes along its roads, but I think the good Lord put them there to make us slow down and relish in his best handiwork. While pot holes abound, you will find the roads that lead to your "home away from home" are paved with gold.

A non-refundable deposit is required upon confirmation of location and dates.

Deposits may be paid via money order, personal check, or paypal. You will receive an invoice that reflects your total charge for planned stay, your non-refundable deposit, and the remainder due to your host upon arrival. Once your payment is received, we will contact your host and share additional lodging information with you.

We will also be glad to arrange for your transportation needs from the airport to your "home away from home." The international airports are in Kingston and Montego Bay. A taxi from Kingston can be up to $100 one way. Air Jamaica has inter-island flights that can fly you into Port Antonio. Each puddle jumper is $77 one way. The taxi from the Port Antonio airport costs may be up to $30.

Guest Houses

Ivanhoe Guest House

Ivanhoe's has 12 rooms with verandas overlooking Titchfield and the East Harbour of Port Antonio. Amenities include: cable TV, ceiling or standing fan, hot / cold showers. Also available for rent is a 2 bedroom flat with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living / dining area combination. Breakfast is served from 8 - 11 am. Dinner is cooked to order and served from 6-7 pm. Telephone service is available at a cost. Less than a 5 minute walk will take you into the town. The craft market and the Marina are "must see".

Faith Cottage

Tucked within a community known as Dolphin Bay, lies Faith Cottage Hotel. The 9 bedrooms are luxurious and elegantly designed. Those special touches abound. Beds ranging from single to king size to fit your wish within this castle. Each room has its own private bath with tub and shower. Ceiling fans stir a gentle breeze as you rest. Plan to stay awhile, there is plenty of closet, vanity drawer space, and storage area. Sit on your own private balcony and take in the beauty of the landscape. A color cable television is situated in each room. Take a dip in the pool, or just relax and sunbathe on its spacious decks.

Ocean Crest

Separating the East and West Harbors of Port Antonio is the peninsula of Titchfield Hill and the home of Ocean Crest Guest House. Ocean Crest Guest House is less than a 5 minute walk into downtown Port Antonio. The Marina with its beach and restaurant/bar is at the foot of the hill.

Ocean Crest has 6 guest rooms. Each room has a double/full size bed, color cable television, closet, fan, and private bath with hot and cold running water. The guests share a fully equipped kitchen, living / dining room and balcony. Lydia’s personal touch with live flowers and plants brings the inside alive. Bed linen and bath towels are furnished and regularly laundered.

Wright Apartments

Wright Apartments are nestled in the lovely valley of Fairy Hill Gardens. The individual, large, and spacious dwellings afford comfort and privacy. It would be easy to add an additional bed if the need arose. The amenities include color cable television, hot and cold running water, double bed, covered porch, outdoor laundry area and clothes line, fully equipped kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, fan, bath and bed linen.

• 2 Bedroom unit (1224 sq. ft): contains large kitchen, large living/dining room, laundry room, veranda & 2 full baths with large closets and storage: $70/night + $10/night deposit = $80/night
• 1 Bedroom unit (612 sq. ft.): contains large kitchen, laundry, large living/dining room, large walk-in closet, small porch and full bath: $40/night + $5/night deposit = $45/night
• Studio apartments (2) (480 sq. ft) contains kitchen, clothes hanging rack, bathroom, large porch: $35/night + $5/night deposit = $40/night.
• Laundry service and food preparation service can be made available upon request at a reasonable rate.
• Those guest staying at least a month will be granted a 10% discount on room rates.
• An extra bed can be moved into an apartment at no additional expense.

Yahimba Beach Cottages

Yahimba Beach Cottages located directly on the exquisite white sandy beach at Long Bay. Peaceful, relaxing, comfortable, each African style thatched cottage has en suite shower, CD radio and hammock. They can accommodate 2/3 persons.

Watch the sunrise from the spacious veranda, stroll along the beach in the moonlight and swim in the clear turquoise blue caribbean sea. Enjoy fresh local produce prepared in the traditional way. Meals are served in the Yahimba Restaurant & Bar (previously trading as Cool Runnings). Breakfast on request, is particularly enjoyable on your private veranda and consists of local fruits, natural tropical juices, blue mountain coffee and a variety of Jamaican favorites such ackee and salt-fish, johnny cakes, calleloo, fried plantain, cornmeal or peanut porridge.

The thatched restaurant is idyllically situated next to the cottages. It is a popular, natural place frequented by Kingstonians and locals especially at weekends. It also has an outside shower and hammocks. Food is traditional using natural produce and includes chicken, fish and vegetarian (ital) dishes. Music and cultural events are hosted here. Weddings and receptions can also be arranged.

Activities
Activities available locally include snorkeling, diving, surfing and horse riding. There are several stunning beaches close by as well as Reach and Sommerset falls. The fascinating and lively market town of Port Antonio is a 20 minutes drive to the west. A little further (one hour) are the Blue Mountains and in the other directions Bath Fountain - a natural hot mineral water Spa. Kingston is a two hour drive and a taxi can be arranged to meet your arrival.

Would you like to get back to nature? Experience the beauty of the land in its most natural state? If so, the answer to your lodging is the Great Huts. This new seaside resort offers an adventure like no other.

Great Huts is a private ocean front vacation village, which blends a dramatic cliff-side seascape with the art, culture, and building styles of Africa and Old Jamaica.

All dwellings feature handcrafted bamboo and driftwood beds with comfortable king or queen size mattresses. Flushing toilets and hot showers available in the community bathhouse. Each hut includes fans and electrical outlets. The stone bedframes accomodate matresses from single to king size. Rest on your private hammocks. Enjoy the unique decor -- West African textiles, original artwork, carvings, etc. Reed fences, bamboo screens and tropical landscaping will enhance your privacy.

You will be amazed and delighted by the amount of work that has gone into this unique habitat. The huts are unique with their artisty inside and out. Parrots and parokeets have found homes in cages that add to its diverse beauty. The pottery, art work, and crafts that are tastefully interwined with the landscape exhibit the talents of many local craftsmen. Tucked away under a veranda is a beautiful kitchen that guests may use or have one of the cooks prepare their meals. Breakfast is included in the price of the night's lodging.

If you really want to splurge, the tree house hut may be your answer. On the ground level of the tree, a bath that includes a Jacuzzi tub, flushing toilet, hot & cold water, and laboratory. A small refrigerator and microwave are also there. Soak in the tub and look out over Boston Bay and beach. Climb up the ladder to the second story to a veranda and bedroom with a king size bed. The view is spectacular!

Need a large space for a growing family or family reunion? Have a crew of friends that enjoy vacationing together? Need a corporate retreat getaway? Ocean Shell Villa & Spa is your answer to privacy, relaxation, and fun. New ownership renovated the villa in 2004 and turned into a vacation paradise. Four richly decorated, air-conditioned bedrooms, state of the art satellite home theater, fresh water swimming pool with wide decks, hot tub, computer and internet access, dining room, living room, and wet bar provide the structure for your group to build a memorable getaway. The villa sits on seaside property filled with fruit trees and beautiful foliage. The sight and sound of the waves lull you into a dream vacation. Your staff of cook, house keeper, and butler will assure that your needs are satiated.

Summer rates are $550 US per night. Winter rates are $600. Food and staff tips are not included. Discounts are available for more than 7 nights. A two night deposit is required. Cancellations receive a 50% refund of deposit.

Seascape I & II

SEASCAPE Villas I & II, built in 1991, are fully-staffed 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom ocean-front villas equipped to accommodate a family of 8 people, or 4 single adults, or 3 couples. It has a complete kitchen, dining room, and separate living room. French doors open onto a large patio and a beautiful white sand beach with palm trees. Villa’s I & II provide the same amenities but with a variation in floor plan; hot and cold running water, ceiling fans, full size beds, and color cable television. Telephones are available. The villas are comfortably furnished and decorated with local artists' works. Approximately a 30-minute ride into Port Antonio. Restaurants are within walking distance.

Rates:
December 15 through April 14: Entire Villa - $1,300 USD per week plus an additional $70 deposit.
Single rooms may be rented for $70 USD/night + $5 deposit/night.
April 15 through December 14: Entire Villa - $1,100 USD per week plus an additional $70 deposit or rent a room for $60 USD/night + $5 deposit/night.
Food costs are in addition to villa rates.
Tipping (a must) - In addition to the rental of the villa, a tip of at least 15% of the total rent fee is to be paid. Some guests give more, depending on their satisfactions with the service provided and the demands they place on the staff.

Christian Resorts

Jamaica Crest Resort

The facility easily accommodates individuals to large groups. Nine villas and a five story fifty room hotel provide peaceful and elegant lodging. The rooms’ amenities include air conditioning, hot and cold running water, single to king size beds, color cable television, Italian ceramic tiles and all the comforts of home but all the extras of luxury in the tropics. Some rooms even have Jacuzzis! If you really want elegance and the budget is a bit fat, the penthouse atop the hotel would be your perfect refuge.

On the grounds are lovely meditation gardens for quiet peaceful strolls. Should you wish to step up the pace a swimming pool, tennis court, ping pong table, pool table, basketball court, soccer field, and horseback riding are available on the resort. How about thumbing a ride on the golf cart tour of the bush?

There are 2 restaurants on the resort with seating capacity of 200. The menus feature traditional and authentic Jamaican cuisine. The mouth-watering aromas of fresh fish, chicken, and pork in their multitude of flavors waft throughout the hillside. The chef and staff are sure to serve your old favorites and introduce you to some new ones. Do not forget to try the plantain, breadfruit, and sour sop. Rule of thumb, if you have never had it, try it, you will love it. Meals are reasonably priced. Alcohol is not sold on the property but you are allowed to bring it in.

For large groups or extended stays past 3 weeks, discounts may be available. Jamaica Crest offers a round trip shuttle service to and from the airports for its guests. Sightseeing tours are yet another service provided by your host.

Fern Hill Club Hotel

Fern Hill Cub Hotel is nestled at the foot of the Blue Mountains overlooking the magnificent Caribbean Sea. One can choose from a standard room, junior suite, grand suites with Jacuzzi or a villa with kitchen facilities. If choosing the junior or larger accommodation, each is spacious with sleeping and sitting area and large private terrace with a spectacular view of the sea and the surrounding countryside. All rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, and satellite TV.

Nightly Rates for Room Only:

Other amenities on the property include two pools, tennis and indoor games, Mento band, and pool table. The restaurant is open all day to serve you your newly found favorite Jamaican dish. The open veranda, the panoramic view, and the staff will make every meal special

Fern Hill accepts major credit cards and requires that your card information be supplied in lieu of a deposit to hold the room. Cancellations must be received a minimum of 3 days prior to your appointed arrival date in order for your card not to be charged a cancellation fee.
